IN THE DARK featuring Taylor Roberts
It's now 2021, and concert venues have been silent for months. The echoes of cheering fans and loud amplifiers are all that remain in our memories of these once-packed halls.
We're doing what we can to change that. Back in December, we took over a historic Chicago hall, and invited several area musicians to rip it up on stage. No rules- just an empty venue, a camera crew, and the spotlight.
FRET12 proudly presents, the second episode of #InTheDark, at Pilsen's legendary Thalia Hall featuring Taylor Roberts - lead guitarist and vocalist of the up-and-coming band Riding With Killers, from Detroit, MI.
Originally from Gulfport, MS, Taylor has been passionately devoted to guitar since first picking it up at the age of 10. With music always playing a huge role in his life, it was hearing Papa Roach’s “Between Angels and Insects” that caused him to say ‘goodbye, saxophone’ and hello guitar!
Taylor is an endorsed artist with several industry-leading brands (Mesa/Boogie, Ernie Ball) and has shared the stage with many of the biggest names in music including Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Bullet for My Valentine, and more! Armed with an r8 Les Paul, Taylor is heading into new worlds in 2021, as he makes the move to the front of the stage in his new band “Riding With Killers.” This particular Gibson is basically a reissue of a 1958 Gibson Les Paul and built to the very same specs as the ‘58 models. His favorite guitar of all time however, is his Martin 000-17E acoustic.
So without further ado, feast your eyes on Taylor Roberts, ripping it up on the above-mentioned Gibson, on-stage, and in the dark.
